Not Guilty 1st Degree Murder

Erickson & Oppenheimer, Ltd. won a 1st degree murder trial for U.S.A. National Boxing Champion Semajay Thomas in a dramitic, emotional jury trial.  Jurors deliverated for just fifty (50) minutes before setting Semajay free and allowing him to resume his quest for Olympic gold.  Semajay is expected to represent the United States of America in the 2012 Olympic Games in London.

Not-Guilty, 1st Degree Murder

In People v. Michael Porche, Erickson & Oppenheimer, Ltd. scored yet another win with a not-guitly in a tough 1st Degree Murder jury trial.  Porche was accussed of firing two bullets his victim at point blank range.  The shooting was captured on surviellance tape and the disturbing, dramtic footage was played repeatedly for the jurors.  “These two [Erickson & Oppenheimer] pulled off a miracle,” said investigator Jerome White.  Jurors deliberated for over six hours before fiinding Porche not-guilty in August of 2011.

Not Guilty 1st Degree Murder

Erickson & Oppenheimer, Ltd. scored yet another not-guilty murder jury verdict in a stunning win against the Cook County State’s Attorney.  Jimmy Brooks was released from custody on November 10, 2011, just hours after Erickson & Oppenheimer, Ltd. defeated Cook County Prosecutors for the 3rd time in a row on 1st Degree Murder charges.  “Erickson & Oppenheimer, out-lawyered the prosecutors–simple as that,” said a tearful member of the Brooks family.

Settlement Reached in Police Harassment and Brutality Case

Settlement for excessive force, battery, assault, unlawful seizure, malicious prosecution, equal protection violation and false arrest case for a 41 year old HIV positive gay man who was beaten & harassed by the police after he was asked to leave a bar, the man was placed under arrest and put into the squad car unhandcuffed, while in custody at the station his injuries suffered from the police & his HIV status were ignored and was not given food or water for two days.

Olympic Hopeful Found Not Guilty in Brutal Beating Death

After over a year in juvenile custody, 17 year old Semajay Thomas, a Junior World Championship boxer was found not guilty of 1st Degree Murder after a jury deliberated for only 45 minutes at the Criminal Courts Building at 26th & California. Thomas was charged along with two others in the brutal street beating of 50 year old Reynaldoo Ortiz last July 13, 2009 on Chicago’s near west side West Town neighborhood. It was alleged that Thomas along with 2 members of the Satin’s Disciples street gang beat the victim with their fists and then stomped and kicked the victim to death.
